Taliban announce all-male government in Afghanistan

(VOVWORLD) - The Taliban named new members of its government in Afghanistan on Tuesday but still failed to appoint any woman.

Earlier this month, the Taliban announced an interim government made up of senior figures of the group and the Haqqani network which has become a suborganization of the Taliban in its own right.

UN human rights chief Michelle Bachelet expressed her dismay at the composition of the Taliban’s caretaker government, noting the absence of women and its dominance of ethnic Pashtuns.
