(VOVWORLD) - A delegation led by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Phung Quoc Hien on Monday visited local ethnic people in Nam Nhun district, Lai Chau province, ahead of Tet.

Mr. Hien urged local authorities to develop plans to ensure that every poor household has a happy Tet. During a visit to the local border guard station, Mr. Hien said he hopes authorities, locals, and soldiers at the station will find ways to boost growth, reduce poverty, and guarantee border security.
The delegation delivered gifts to local teachers and students and 20 poor families.
