Thai tourism to rebound from bomb attack

(VOVworld) - Thailand's tourism sector will rebound from the negative impact of a recent bombing attack in downtown Bangkok, which left at least 20 people dead and 120 injured.

Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul told a press conference on Wednesday that the bombing at Erawan Shrine last Monday will have a short-term impact on tourism, stressing that this year's target of almost 62 billion USD in revenue will be achievable.

She said the travel booking and hotel reservation are still good until the end of this year.

The situation is currently under control while security and safety measures have been taken to ensure the highest degree for both Thais and foreigners who are traveling to Thailand for all sorts of purposes, whether it is for tourism, business, or education.
