The 13th National Assembly wraps up its 4th session

(VOVworld)-The National Assembly has completed its work after a month-long sitting in Hanoi. Addressing the closing ceremony on Friday, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said that in a spirit of solidarity and democracy and with a high sense of responsibility, deputies actively participated in and debated in all designated issues, which drew the attention of the entire nation.

Deputies underlined the efforts by the government, ministries, agencies, and the political system as a whole to further socio-economic development and their achievements in spite of the difficult economic conditions. They pointed to the shortcomings and approved the socio-economic development and State budget plans for next year. National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung: “The National Assembly targeted continuing the stabilization of the macro-economy, inflation control, and year-on-year increasing growth rate. The legislative body planned to accelerate the implementation of strategic breakthroughs in restructuring the economy, shifting the growth models, securing social welfare, improving the effectiveness of international integration, ensuring national defence and security, and maintaining socio-political stability.”

Lawmakers passed nine important bills and a Resolution on Confidence Vote. They asked relevant agencies to gather public opinions on draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution and submitting it to the National Assembly in the next session. Chairman Hung comments on supervision work: “The National Assembly has supervised the implementation of laws and policies relating to land issues and will improve the efficiency of the settlement of related complains and denunciations. The approval of a resolution of votes of confidence on high-ranking positions elected or appointed by the National Assembly and People’s Council is to improve people’s right to master through the legislative body’s supervision.”
