(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has asked the health sector to strengthen the health care system, especially the preventive health network and improve treatment quality. At an online conference to review the performance of the health sector in 2012 and set tasks for 2013 on Thursday, Prime Minister Dung stressed the need to further invest in health care facility and increase technological transfer to local hospitals thus reducing overloading at central hospitals. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung says: "The health care sector needs to focus on improving treatment quality and technological application. In addition, it’s necessary to reduce the infection and mortality rate. Prevention is the root of people’s health care. The sector also needs to focus on reducing overloading at hospitals, reforming financial mechanism, effectively utilizing the state funding and mobilizing resources in society to invest in people’s health care".

The Prime Minister urged the sector to continue implementing health insurance for everybody, assisting poor people to access health insurance and overcoming the gender imbalance.
