(VOVWORLD) - South Korea had the most visitors coming to Vietnam in the first five months of this year, followed by China, the US, and China’s Taiwan. Rounding up the top 10 markets are Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Australia, and Singapore.

The General Statistics Office said prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, China topped the number of visitors to Vietnam, accounting for about 30% of the total number of visitors.
Russia, the UK, and France were often in the group of countries with also a high number of visitors. But it all took a turn after the epidemic and due to unstable economic and political situation in Europe.
In the first five months of this year Vietnam welcomed nearly 4.6 million international arrivals, an increase of nearly 13 times over the same period last year and 63% of 2019.
The number of visitors from the top 10 countries reached more than 3.3 million, accounting for 71% of the total number of visitors.
