Trade surplus on track to record level

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam enjoyed a trade surplus of more than 20 billion USD  in the past 11 months as exports to the US and China surged sharply.

According to the General Statistics Office, both heavy industry and light industry products saw increases, with double-digit rises for computers-electronics and machinery-equipment.

Exports to the EU, Southeast Asia, South Korea, and Japan dropped 3-10%. But exports to the US, Vietnam’s largest customer, roseto 70 billion USD, and to China to 43 billion USD.

Vietnam earned a record trade surplus of 9.9 billion USD last year.
