Tu Duc tomb viewed in 3D on Google search

(VOVWORLD) - 37 world cultural heritage sites, including the Tomb of King Tu Duc, who reigned for over 35 years since 1848, will be seen in 3D thanks to Google Search's new augmented reality (AR) tool.

The tomb, surrounded by a 1,500 m long wall, was built from 1864 to 1867.

Google Arts & Culture launched the new Search tool Friday ahead of UN World Tourism Day on September 27.

In summer 2018 CyArk, an American non-profit organization, began documenting Hoa Khiem Temple, Tu Duc Tomb Stele Building, and Queen Le Thien Anh’s Tomb at the Hue Monuments Complex, a world heritage site, using laser scanning and drone cameras to create high resolution imagery from the ground and above. It then processed and combined those images into accurate 3D surface models of the heritage sites.
