Two more Vietnamese officers to join UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Peacekeeping Department (VPD) of the Defense Ministry presented the President’s decision to assign two officers to peacekeeping duty in South Sudan.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Ngoc Son and Major Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong will serve as military observers at the UN Mission in South Sudan. Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh praised the performance of Vietnamese peacekeeping officers who have served in South Sudan and the Central African Republic. On the occasion, four officers who have just completed their duty in South Sudan and the Central African Republic delivered reports to the Defense Ministry leaders.
