The Prime Minister’s official dispatch on Sunday ordered aggressive response measures. The central provinces have banned people from going to sea and urged for emergency storm prevention.
Nguyen Van Huong, Head of the Weather Forecast Department at the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, gave a warning, saying “Given the powerful storm, with extremely heavy rain and strong winds and waves, people must not be complacent, strictly follow evacuation orders, stay in safe shelters, and do not go out when the storm is raging."
"In particular, people in mountainous areas and along rivers and streams must be highly vigilant against flash floods and landslides, and prepare emergency evacuation plans when there is a warning. Proactively and promptly following the instructions of the authorities is the best way to protect life and property.”
The storm is forecast to cause widespread heavy rain in the central region, posing risk of flash floods and landslides in the mountainous areas of the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue.
