UK, Germany to unite for NATO flight missions in Estonia for first time

(VOVWORLD) - The UK and Germany will conduct joint air policing missions in Estonia for the first time.

The UK is preparing to take over from Germany as leader of the NATO mission in Estonia.

The UK Ministry of Defence said that 300 Royal Air Force personnel will soon arrive in Estonia.

Along with the British pilots, German pilots flying Typhoon fighter jets will patrol Estonian airspace for four months beginning in April.

British Wing Commander Scott MacColl, said that joint operations of this kind demonstrate the strength and unity of the NATO alliance and a shared resolve to maintain peace and security across the region.
