President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy described the deal as a necessary agreement to push dialogue towards peaceful measures to solve the crisis in Ukraine. European Parliament President Martin Schulz affirmed that new developments in Ukraine opened hopes and will help the country avoid a scenario of escalating violence. NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen urged all relevant parties to promptly enforce the document to restrain violence and cooperate for the sake of the nation’s future. The administration of US President Barack Obama welcomed the deal but said it will be ready to impose new sanctions on Ukraine if necessary.
