(VOVworld) – Millions in Ethiopia are struggling with the worst drought in 30 years, which has resulted in a dire food shortage. At a press briefing in Addis Ababa, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said 10 million Ethiopians are in urgent need of food and the figure could double in a matter months. One fifth of Ethiopia’s population is facing starvation, Ban said, urging immediate humanitarian aid from the whole world.

Ethiopia has recorded economic growth in recent years but its economic achievements, including food production, are not enough to fight climate change, especially chronic droughts.
