Ban said any excuse is less than determined action to stop the instability in Syria. Vitaly Churkin, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, said that peace in Syria is an impossible mission at this moment. Samantha Power, US Ambassador to the United Nations, said that Russia’s actions in Syria was not against terrorism. Russia and the US, who support the opposite sides in the Syria conflicts, are seeking ways to restore the broken ceasefire after a humanitarian aid convoy was attacked last week.
