UNDP to work with Vietnam to support disabled women

(VOVWORLD) -The UN Development Program (UNDP) will work closely with Vietnam to help women, particularly disabled women, overcome obstacles and prejudice and build an inclusive, sustainable world for all, said the UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam at a meeting on disabled women overcoming difficulties in Hanoi on Monday.

Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc said that some  members of the eight disadvantaged groups sponsored by the Ministry of Planning and Investment have started up businesses and achieved encouraging results.

Vietnam has made progress in socio-economic development and has been a shining example in poverty reduction, she said, adding that disadvantaged communities, as part of Vietnam's human resources, contribute to social development and economic growth.
