Mr. Giang met separately with Resident Representative of the UN Development Program (UNDP) in Vietnam Caitlin Wiesen and the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) Representative in Vietnam Naomi Kitahara on Thursday.

Vietnam will prioritize post COVID-19 socio-economic recovery in a green, sustainable, inclusive fashion, and promote innovation, he said, welcoming key areas of the 2022-2026 Country Program Document (CPD) and the 10th Country Program for Vietnam recently approved by the executive boards of the UNDP and UNFPA.

Wiesen and Kitahara said the two agencies are ready to expand cooperation with and support for Vietnam in green, sustainable post-pandemic recovery, addressing inequalities, reducing poverty, and protecting vulnerable groups.

UNDP and UNFPA pledged to help Vietnam achieve its sustainable development goals and fulfill the commitment to net zero emissions.
