US, China start new round of trade talks
(VOVWORLD) - The US and China opened the latest round of their trade talks on Thursday, as the economic superpowers edge toward a deal that will resolve a month-long spat that has rattled the global economy.

The two-day meeting between US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and China's top economic official Liu He is the first since China enacted new measures seen as concessions. The US and China have made progress on the core issues, but many problems remain.
