US Congress supports relations with Vietnam

(VOV) – Representatives of the US Foreign Affairs Congressional Staff Association (FACSA have told Vietnamese Ambassador  Pham Quang Vinh that the US Congress would  continue to back further development of bilateral relations for mutual benefit aiming to elevate the comprehensive partnership to a higher level.

On Thursday, Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh hosted a reception for FACSA members who are also advisors and key assistants to US senators. He reviewed the outcome of bilateral cooperation over recent years, highlighting the year 2015 as a momentous event marking 20 years of diplomatic relations with a series of exchange visits at all levels and increased cooperation in various fields under the framework of the comprehensive partnership between the two countries. He also affirmed the Vietnam Embassy’s willingness to work closely with FACSA to enhance exchange and mutual understanding and deal with issues of shared concern. FACSA Representatives said the US Congress will continue to play an active role in building many specific areas of cooperation spanning from politics-defense-security, economy, trade, science technology, humanitarian programs and post-war recovery.
