(VOVworld) -  Hillary Clinton secured the Democratic Party's presidential nomination on Tuesday, becoming the first woman in US history to head the ticket of a major party.

At the National Democratic Convention, delegates from South Dakota gave Clinton 15 votes, bringing her total to the 2,383 votes needed to win the nomination. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are now officially the Democratic and Republican nominees for the US Presidential election on November 8.
