US Secretary of State to discuss Syria, combating terrorism
(VOVWORLD) -US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will visit Jordan, Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt and Kuwait from Sunday to Friday to discuss various issues, including the crisis in Syria and the reconstruction of Iraq.

In Jordan, the Secretary will meet with His Majesty King Abdullah II and Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Al-Safadi for talks on conflict in Syria, defeating IS and other terrorist groups, and the Middle East peace process. Both men will sign the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in economics, defense and security over the coming years.
Later on, in Turkey, Tillerson will meet with senior Turkish officials to discuss combatting IS and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party issue. He will talk about Hezbollah’s role in Lebanon and across the region. The Secretary will meet with senior Egyptian officials in Cairo to exchange view on Libya, Syria, and the Israeli-Palestinian issues.
