(VOV) - Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General To Lam has received Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli who is a non-resident representative of the Vatican Holy See to Vietnam. At a reception in Hanoi yesterday, Lam thanked the Vatican guest for paying a New Year visit to the Ministry of Public Security and briefed him on the Vietnamese State’s policy on freedom of belief and religion which helps facilitate activities of the Vietnam Catholic Church and Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli. Lam said he hopes that the Archbishop will continue helping Vietnam’s Catholic Church realize the Pope’s teaching “ A good catholic is also a good citizen”  to strengthen ties between Vietnam and the Holy See. Archbishop Girelli thanked the Ministry for creating favourable conditions for the Vietnam Catholic Church’s activities and hoped to receive further support in the future.
