(VOVworld) – Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan says the Party and State will help farmers increase their productivity for rural development. She made the remarks while receiving 81 representatives of outstanding farmer households and collectives who are in Hanoi to attend Wednesday “Large-scale rice field” conference. At the reception, delegates agreed that the “Large-scale rice field” model has proved its effectiveness, thanks to a close connection among scientists, managers, businesses, and farmers during every step of the farming process: breeding, provision of agricultural materials, technology application, and output.

The Vice President urged Party committees and local authorities at all levels to create favorable conditions for farmers in terms of credit and technical assistance while expanding successful production models to speed up the country’s modernization and industrialization. Ms. Doan said: "Large-scale production with global value chains to meet markets’ demands worldwide is an urgent requirement for agriculture, farmers and rural areas. This can only be done with close relations among businesses, scientists, managers, and farmers. In addition, farmers should be quaranteed outlets to encourage large-scale production. Leaders and managers are urged to devise specific strategic development plans for the “Large-scale production” program."
