(VOVworld) – Vice State President and Chairwoman of Vietnam Children Support Fund, Nguyen Thi Doan on Saturday presented scholarships to disadvantaged children in Yen Bai province on the occasion of the new school year.

Doan asked those children to try their best to overcome difficulties to get the best results in their studies. She also spoke highly of Yen Bai province’s achievement in childcare and education over the past years especially in improving the quality of teaching and learning. She said: "The provincial authorities should continue to develop high quality human resources especially for education and training. The country has universalized primary and secondary education and eradicated illiteracy since 2007, so I hope that the province will exert its best effort to education development".
