Vietnam acknowledges religious organizations' contributions to national development

(VOVWORLD) -  The Vietnamese Party, State and Government attach importance to all resources, including religious organisations’ contributions to national development, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang said.

At a reception with Franklin Graham, President and CEO of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) on Thursday, Thang said he hopes Graham, through this visit to Vietnam, will witness current socio-economic achievements and the rich and diverse religious life in Vietnam. 

Thang urged Graham and the BGEA to continue charitable activities in Vietnam, including rural clean water programs and support to disadvantaged children.

Graham, who is also President of international relief organisation Samaritan’ Purse, said he is pleased with Vietnam’s development and the diverse religious activities in Vietnam, affirming that he will share interesting experience in Vietnam to the US political circle and people after returning home.
