The Ministry collaborated with leading US health organisation PATH, which focuses on lobbying and ensuring financial stability for the prevention and elimination of malaria and updating new and effective treatments. These goals are aligned with the 2023 plan for malaria, parasites, and insect control and prevention, which aims to eliminate malaria in Vietnam by 2030.

According to the National Institute of Malaria-Parasitology-Entomology, deaths from malaria in Vietnam reduced from 4,646 30 years ago to only one death last year and no malaria epidemic.

42 provinces and cities have been recognized for eliminating malaria.
