The meeting, chaired by Cambodian Ambassador to the US Chum Sounry, reviewed the results of the recent special ASEAN and ASEAN+3 summits, and the ASEAN-US Foreign Ministers meeting.

They agreed that ASEAN should continue to cooperate in research and development of COVID-19 vaccines and medicines, and in post-pandemic economic recovery. The meeting praised Vietnam’s initiatives to increase ASEAN cooperation, internally and with its partners, in fighting the COVID-19 epidemic.

Ambassador Ngoc brought the other diplomats up to date on Vietnam’s efforts to keep the epidemic under control and reopen its economy. He also shared information about made-in-Vietnam COVID-19 test kits, which have been certified by the World Health Organization for global use.
