Vietnam, Australia strive to make breakthroughs in economic cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and Australia on Monday held their third Economic Partnership Meeting co-chaired by Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung and Australian Minister of Trade and Tourism Don Farrell.

The two sides put forward solutions to promote Vietnam-Australia economic relations, and listened to opinions and recommendations by pioneering enterprises in Vietnam and Australia to improve the business environment.

They also discussed cooperation in multilateral and regional forums.

"After 50 years of  diplomatic relations, the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Australia is on the way to strong, substantive and effective development in many fields, in the spirit of trust and sincerity," Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said. 

"Discussions at the meeting are expected to help create breakthroughs in economic cooperation, contributing to fostering comprehensive cooperation between the two countries."  

By the end of 2022, two-way trade between Vietnam and Australia reached 15.7 billion USD, up nearly 27%.
