Meeting with Deputy Chairwoman of the State Duma of Russia Olga Timofeeva, Ms. Phong suggested both sides work closely and take full advantage of the Eurasian Economic Union-Vietnam free trade agreement to facilitate trade and economic activities. Ms. Timofeeva said the State Duma had reached broad consensus on supporting Vietnam at all multilateral forums.

While meeting the head of the Japanese delegation, Takeo Kawamura, Ms. Phong said Vietnamese NA deputies support the Government’s commitment to facilitating the operations of foreign businesses, including those from Japan. Kawamura said he believes that cooperation between Vietnam and Japan will continue to prosper.

In a meeting with President of the Cambodian National Assembly Heng Samrin, Ms. Phong thanked Cambodian leaders for supporting Vietnam’s bid to become a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and creating favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Cambodia.
