Vietnam boosts cooperation with Geneva Int’l Centre for Humanitarian Demining

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam, a country severely affected by bombs, mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) left over from the war, strongly supports national and international efforts to protect people’s lives and boost economic development in contaminated areas, according to Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai.

Ambassador Mai, head of the Vietnamese Permanent Mission to the UN, the World Trade Organization and other international organizations in Geneva, addressed the 46th meeting of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) held online this week.

Vietnam, Mai said, appreciates the contributions of GICHD in bomb and mine clearance and its effective cooperation with the Vietnam National Mine Action Centre. Vietnam is looking forward to continued cooperation with GICHD and other international partners.
