He made this appeal on Tuesday at a UN Security Council videoconference on the situation in Sudan and activities of the UN Integrated Transition Assistance Mission (UNITAMS) in Sudan.

Ambassador Quy said he expects the transitional government and relevant parties there will honor the October 3, 2020 peace deal to build long-term peace and stability in Sudan.

He praised the role of the UN regional organizations in promoting peace and stability in Sudan and called for more humanitarian assistance and favorable conditions for Sudan to access international financial institutions. He said he is looking forward to the full operation of UNITAMS to support the transition process and development in Sudan.
