(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has the capability, resources, determination, and experience required to contain the Covid-19 epidemic, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said at a recent government meeting.

He praised Vietnam’s doctors and hospitals for curing 16 infections with no fatalities.
Mr. Phuc said Vietnam is well prepared for all scenarios and asked ministries and sectors to update information about the disease situation, quickly trace disease sources, and impose a full quarantine of infected individuals. He urged for sufficient supply of basic necessities, particularly food and medicines, and asked medical personnel at all levels to ramp up testing and production of a vaccine to prevent the disease.
Prime Minister Phuc approved a temporary suspension of unilateral visa exemptions for Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, the UK, France, Germany, and Spain, and canceled visas already issued for individuals who are husbands, wives, or children of Vietnamese living in those 8 countries. He agreed that all persons entering Vietnam will be required to complete a compulsory health declaration.
