(VOVworld)-Ho Chi Minh City has awarded winners in a contest on Marxism, Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought. Following more than a dozen of qualifying rounds, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Sciences won the collective prize while a student from People’s Security University won the individual prize. The contest aims to raise understanding among young people on the issue and follow the movement to learn from Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. Le Huu Trang is the winner of individual prize:“I am happy to win prize in the contest. It offers me knowledge a part from what I learned at school on Marxism, Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought. This will help me in school work and national construction later.”

  Vietnamese diplomats have offered incense at the President Ho Chi Minh Altar at the embassy and laid wreaths at a house on Compointe lane in Paris , where President Ho was living and working in the early 1920s, and at Ho Chi Minh Statute inside Montreau Park . Ambassador Duong Chi Dung was speaking at the ceremony:“President Ho Chi Minh had always strived for friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and France . The President was here 100 years ago to seek for the path to national liberation. The peace, friendship and cooperation spirit will open a new chapter in bilateral ties as the two countries are to celebrate the 40^th anniversary of diplomatic ties.”

The same day, the Vietnamese embassies in China and  Algeria held ceremonies to mark the President’s birth anniversary.

Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi opened an exhibition on Ho Chi Minh in Russia to highlight the revolution career of the President and his efforts to foster friendship and cooperation with Russia . Nguyen Thuy Duc is the Deputy Director of the Museum:“The exhibition aims to help Russian people and the younger generation understand more about Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese land and people and the time honored friendship and cooperation between the 2 countries.”

The Overseas Vietnamese community in Cambodia and Laos held meetings to mark the occasion. Major newspaper in Laos praised Ho Chi Minh’s merit to the national liberation in Laos and Vietnam as well as his bright moral example.
