Vietnam, Chile to promote ASEAN Economic Community links
(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong told the visiting Chilean President in Hanoi on Thursday that he wishes for closer cooperation and friendship with her Socialist Party and other traditional friendship parties in Chile.
During his reception for President Michelle Bachelet Jeria, the Party leader hoped the two countries to be core factor to boost ASEAN Economic Community links with other South American integration mechanisms to which Chile is a member. The Chilean President praised Vietnam’s national construction progress and pledged to boost practical cooperation between the two countries.
The same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met President Michelle Bachelet Jeria and he thanked the Chilean government for its sympathy with Vietnamese flood victims.
