Vietnam is among the global leaders in HIV treatment quality, she said, adding that more than 97% of HIV carriers receiving antiretroviral therapy now have viral loads suppressed below detectable levels.
Effective models and initiatives on HIV/AIDS prevention service delivery have contributed to keeping HIV prevalence in the community below 0.3%, steadily advancing toward the 95-95-95 goals set forth in the national strategy on ending AIDS by 2030, according to the Health Minister.
In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized the need to eliminate fear and stigma toward people living with HIV. He suggested measures to achieve the goal of ending AIDS by 2030, including giving easier access to HIV/AIDS prevention and control services.
“It is also crucial to involve private healthcare in treatment; improve the expertise of health workers, and offer them more incentives. We are moving toward a society free of discrimination against people living with HIV and a future without HIV/AIDS." Deputy PM Long said.
