Vietnam Cultural Week in Iran begins

(VOVworld) –Vietnam’s Embassy has begun Vietnamese Cultural Week in Iran.

At the opening ceremony in Tehran on Saturday, Vietnam’s Ambassador to Iran Nguyen Hong Thach said the week will promote understanding between the two peoples and bilateral relations between Vietnam and Iran. Chairman of the House of Parties of Iran Ghodrat Ali Heshmatian noted Iran’s support for Vietnam since the war and hailed the Embassy’s initiative to organize the cultural event.

The week will feature performances of Bac Ninh folk singing and traditional musical instruments like the monochord, the t'rung, the erhu, the zither, and the flute. 20 photos portraying Vietnam’s landscapes and people’s lives, taken by Vietnamese and Iranian photographers, will be on display.

Vietnamese Cultural Week in Iran will continue until Thursday in Tehran, Shiraz, Esfahan, Kish Island, Tabriz, and Kashan.
