(VOVworld) -  The National Anti-Tuberculosis Program has reviewed its activities and mapped out future work plan. It has successfully covered 100% of the national territory with a focus on healthcare services for ethnic and poor people. Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Xuyen was speaking at the event in Hanoi on Saturday: “Despite challenges stemming from HIV, resistant TB types and demographic changes, the program has successfully completed its mission through international cooperation and application of advanced and modern techniques”Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan urged the Health Ministry to prioritize TB control, especially in key areas including the Southeastern region. He said provinces should consider TB control a socio-economic development indicator. The national program aims to halve the number of TB patients by 2015 and eradicate the disease by 2050.
