Vietnam expects new Korean investment wave

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received Korean ambassador to Vietnam Lee Huyk in Hanoi on Thursday.

He praised the development of the two countries- strategic partnership in recent years, particularly in security, politics, defense, international cooperation, investment, trade, and ODA. He said that the FTA between the two countries will promote bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, investment, and labor. He said he hopes there will be a new wave of Korean investment in Vietnam now that Vietnam has joined the TPP.

Ambassador Huyk said many Korean businesses want to invest in Vietnam in a number of areas such as energy, transport, and finance. He said he hopes two-way trade will grow more rapidly to surpass the 70 billion USD target by 2020.
