A high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan meets with leaders of SAFRAN — the aerospace and defense group of France, April 01, 2019.

She asked France to help Vietnam speed up the signing and ratification of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

Madam Ngan specifically asked France to back the lifting of tEU’s "yellow card" warning to Vietnam, adding that Vietnam is making an effort to implement EU recommendations.

Mr. Farrand said France supports the early signing and ratification of the EVFTA. He said he will visit Vietnam with a parliamentary and business delegation to further cooperative ties, adding that the French National Assembly invites the Vietnamese NA to come to France to share experience.

At a reception in Paris the same day for National Secretary of the French Communist Party (PCF) Fabien Roussel, Ms. Ngan said the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) values its relations with the PCF and wants to expand cooperation with progressive forces across the world.

At the meeting with leaders of SAFRAN — the aerospace and defense group of France —Ms. Ngan suggested that SAFRAN consider building facilities for maintaining engines and producing spare parts for the aviation industry in Vietnam; transferring technology to Vietnam; and training resources for the aerospace and defense industry. She said Vietnam will create a favorable legal environment for foreign firms like SAFRAN to operate in the country.
