Vietnam fulfils int’l commitments on religious freedom

(VOVworld) - Heiner Bielefeldt, a UN Special Rapporteur on religious freedom, has completed his mission in Vietnam from July 21 to 31. Bielefeldt’s visit is part of a cooperation framework between Vietnam and the UN.

Since 2010, 6 special rapporteurs of the UN Human Rights Council have been welcomed in Vietnam in a manner that reflects the goodwill and open, cooperative attitude of the Vietnamese government, and Vietnam’s strong commitment as a member of the UN Human Rights Council to the UN’s Universal Periodic Review.
