Prime Minister Phuc said the Vietnamese government supports ADB’s Strategy Towards 2030, which helps member countries deal with poverty, imbalanced development, and climate change, and develop their private sector.  Vietnam also backs ADB’s continuing operation and personnel reforms to improve its performance. Phuc added that the government and the State Bank of Vietnam value the 2016-2020 Country Partnership Strategy between ADB and Vietnam.

According to Sidgwick, Vietnam has received international acclaim for sustaining its economic growth despite recent downturn. ADB is ready to share experience with Vietnam in infrastructure and response to climate change and provide macroeconomic policy advice to help Vietnam improve its competitiveness and develop its private sector.
