Vietnam has 550 joint training programs and 170,000 Vietnamese students are studying abroad, of which 1000 are studying in Italy, said Pham Quang Hung, head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Education and Training.

"The forum connects the education authorities of Vietnam and Italy. Participants discussed global challenges in the internationalization of higher education, ways to upgrade higher education and expand student transfers, and education cooperation between Vietnam and Italy," said Mr. Hung.

An exhibition displaying educational materials of 18 universities in the two countries attracted thousands of visitors. The event marked the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Italy.
