Vietnam – Japan enhance comprehensive cooperation

(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc paid a visit to Japan from 9-11, October. Mr. Phuc met with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Speakers of the two Houses. The Japanese leaders said they treasured the relationship with Vietnam and Deputy Prime Minister Phuc’s visit would further consolidate bilateral ties.

The two sides agreed to increase high-level visits, especially between their legislative agencies and the friendly parliamentarians groups. The two countries’ leaders committed to cooperate at international forums and at the Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations (TPP) and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
They reached consensus on the importance of peace, stability, freedom of navigation, and resolving disputes through peaceful measures.Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has suggested to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe that Vietnam and Japan should coordinated closely to help maintain peace, stability and development in the region in the context of rapid and complicated changes in the regional and world situation. Deputy Prime Minister Phuc visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Osaka and met with Vietnamese people in Kansai.
