Vietnam jumps 27 notches in UN Competitive Industrial Performance Index

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam jumped 27 notches from the 69th to the 42nd in the world and 5th in ASEAN in Competitive Industrial Performance Index (CIP) for 10 years from 2006 and 2016, the Vietnam Industry White Paper 2019 announced on Tuesday in Hanoi.

The White Paper says export plays an important role in Vietnam’s giant leap forward in CIP. Vietnam’s average export per capita increased 6 times. The country’s exports of hi-tech products surpassed Indonesia and India and is on track to keep up with China. However, localization proportion of Vietnamese exports decreased from 56% to 52%

Manufacturing value added (MVA), an important factor that reflects a country’s production capacity and competitiveness, surged from 15 billion USD in 2006 to 26.6 billion USD in 2016.
