Vietnam maintains overall economic recovery momentum in 2022

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has maintained its economic recovery momentum in 2022 despite many difficulties, Zhao Ruyi, a scholar from the Institute of International Relations at China’s Yunnan University, wrote in an article recently posted on the Tengxun website.

The scholar said that Vietnam has adopted a multi-dimension  approach by implement a policy to safely and flexibly adapt to and effectively control the COVID-19 pandemic as an effort to associate pandemic prevention and control with economic development. As a result, Vietnam's economy has entered a strong recovery track and seen rapid growth in many spheres, she said.

According to the article, as of September 2022, more than 1.6 million enterprises registered for new establishment and operation resumption in Vietnam. Foreign direct investment (FDI) reached 15.4 billion USD, an increase of over 16% over the same period last year.

Vietnam reopened international tourism activities in March 2022, creating favorable conditions for the service industry to recover with an increase of nearly 10.6% over the same period last year and its the contribution to the GDP was more than 54%.
