Both Vietnamese and foreign volunteers joined a walking parade to promote International Volunteers Day on December 5 and raise fund for disadvantaged students in northern mountain provinces and attended an exhibition on voluntary activities.

Nguyen Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Youth Union, said volunteers and voluntary organizations represent the Vietnamese nation’s humanity and community support for a better future.

“I hope the volunteers and voluntary groups inside and outside Vietnam will organize more useful activities with new formats and methods for communities and people.” Tuan said.

The organizing board gave the National Volunteers Award to 8 collectives and 10 individuals, and certificates of merits to 20 voluntary organizations nationwide.
