Vietnam Migration Profile 2016 released

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Migration Profile 2016 has been released by the Foreign Ministry’s Consular Department and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

At Tuesday’s launch ceremony in Hanoi, Director of the Consular Department Nguyen Minh Vu said promoting legal migration, preventing illegal migration, ensuring safe migration, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of migrants are a consistent policy of Vietnam. He added that Vietnam wants to enhance cooperation in migration management with other countries to share experience and information and build appropriate policies that serve national development during the integration process.

The Vietnam Migration Profile 2016 includes up-to-date data on Vietnam’s migration flows, analysis and assessment of migration data, and recommendations to improve migration management, fine-tune migration policies and laws, and boost cooperation between state agencies.
