Mr. Phuc was speaking at a meeting at the Academy on Saturday to mark its 70th Traditional Day and receive the Ho Chi Minh Order. He said: “The Military Medical Academy should adopt a long-term development strategy with a vision to 2030 and 2045. Efforts should be made to build the Academy into a center of training, research, application, and treatment on a par with regional and global level. First of all, the Academy should become a key institution and a leading center for military medical research and pharmacy of Vietnam.”

The Vietnam Military Medical Academy has helped train thousands of bachelors, masters, and doctors for Laos and Cambodia. Many of the Academy’s doctors have worked in remote and border areas, including the Nam Yet Island on Truong Sa archipelago.
