Vietnam once again named “World’s Leading Heritage Destination”

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has once again been honored as the “World’s Leading Heritage Destination” at the 2025 World Travel Awards Grand Final held in Bahrain, said the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Sunday. This is the sixth time Vietnam has received the prestigious title, following wins in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024.

The award recognizes Vietnam’s sustained efforts to preserve and promote its heritage while advancing sustainable tourism. Vietnam's harmonious blend of natural landscapes, cultural depth, and rich community identity has made it a favorite destination for international travelers.

Vietnam’s success this year extended beyond the national level, with several local destinations also receiving global recognition. Notably, the Dong Van Karst Plateau in Tuyen Quang province was named the “World’s Leading Local Cultural Destination” for the first time. Moc Chau Plateau in Son La earned its third title as the “World’s Leading Local Nature Destination.” Tam Dao in Phu Tho province was voted the “World’s Leading Tourist Town” for the fourth time, while Phu Quoc, known as the “Pearl Island”, secured its fourth consecutive win as the “World’s Leading Nature Island Destination.”

Vietnam currently has nine UNESCO-recognized natural and cultural World Heritage sites, 15 Intangible Cultural Heritage elements, and 10 Documentary Heritage inscriptions.
