Vietnam opposes Taiwan’s live-fire drill around Ba Binh Island
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam strongly condemns Chinese Taiwan’s live-fire exercise around Ba Binh (Itu Aba) island in Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, demanding that Taiwan refrain from such actions in the future, said the Foreign Ministry spokesperson.

Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang told a press briefing on Thursday that Vietnam has sufficient legal historical evidence to confirm its sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa archipelagos under international law.
She said Taiwan’s continuing to conduct live-fire drills in the waters surrounding Ba Binh island despite Vietnam’s opposition is a serious violation of Vietnam’s territorial sovereignty and poses a threat to peace, stability, and maritime security and safety by causing tension and complicating the situation in the East Sea.
