Vietnam, Palestine strengthen solidarity, friendship

(VOVWORLD) - Le Hoai Trung, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, has affirmed Vietnam’s support for Palestinians’ struggle for justice, for fundamental national rights and the rights to self-determination and establishing an independent Palestinian state.

Trung made the statement at Thursday’s reception in Hanoi for a delegation of Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) led by Jibril Rajoub, a permanent member of its Central Committee’s Secretariat.
Vietnam backs the acceleration of negotiations and the peaceful settlement of conflicts, according to Trung.
Rajoub applauded the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and expressed his admiration of Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements.
Both sides agreed to promote solidarity, friendship and cooperation.
On Thursday morning, the Palestinian delegation held talks with the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations led by deputy head Nguyen Thi Hoang Van.
